A gym will host a six-hour static cycle to raise money for a teenager who was seriously hurt in a rugby match.

Westside Health and Fitness Club in West Street, Stamford, has invitied people to take part in the event on January 31 in aid of the #teamgeorge campaign, which was set up to help George Robinson.

George, 18, from Stamford, suffered severe spinal injuries during a rugby match in South Africa in July, and is still recovering in hospital in Sheffield. His family and friends set up a trust to help his recovery, and the #teamgeorge campaign began on social media to encourage people to support the fundraising effort, which we featured last week.

The static cycle is open to anyone, for a minimum contribution of £5 per hour per bike. It will begin at 9.10am. Organiser Emma Brewster hopes to raise £1,000.
