Sandwich chain Subway could soon open in Bourne.

The global firm wants to open 10 new shops in Lincolnshire this year, the first of which will be in Bourne.

A spokesman said the location for the new shop had not yet been confirmed, but the company was looking at options in the Burghley Centre.

The Subway would have seating for 36 customers and would create 10 new jobs.

The spokesman said the Bourne shop could open as soon as July, and the company was also considering options in Rutland, although nothing had yet been confirmed.

Development agent Tesh Patel added: “It is ideally placed in a dynamic shopping area and will give busy shoppers a lighter lunchtime option.”

Subway already has a shop in High Street, Stamford.
