Bank staff nominated a charity that cares for the elderly and vulnerable for a grant of £5,000 towards its work.
The Stamford branch of Santander chose to give the money to the Evergreen Care Trust, which covers the Stamford and Bourne area.
The money will be used across the charity’s services, which include advocacy, befriending, chaplaincy, a clean team, furniture store and hospital to home.
Evergreen founder Louise Marsh said: “We are delighted and thankful for the Santander customers who nominated Evergreen for this award and to Santander for their generous and much appreciated grant for the work of the trust for local people.”
The donation was provided by the Santander Foundation which offers grants to UK registered charities for projects that help disadvantaged people in local communities.
Roseanne Davies, manager at Santander’s Stamford branch, said: “The Santander Foundation makes hundreds of donations every year to good causes throughout the UK. Our branch is committed to playing a key part in the community and we are delighted to be supporting the Evergreen Care Trust, and hope the donation makes a real difference to local people.”
The donation coincided with the launch of the Evergreen Angels scheme, which offers a personalised at-home service to people in Stamford. For more information and to sign up to the call 01780 765900 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
