Leighfield Primary School in Uppingham receives a School Games platinum award
The staff and children at Leighfield Primary school in Uppingham were delighted when Chris Thomas recently came in to present them with their School Games platinum award, writes Chris Kenworthy.
The School Games Mark is a government led awards scheme which rewards schools for their commitment to the development of competition across their school.
The Platinum Award is the highest accolade which rewards schools who have maintained consistently high sports provisions standards and achieved the gold standard for five successive years.
Only three schools in Rutland have achieved platinum status and we are thrilled that Leighfield’s enthusiasm and commitment to sport and physical activity has been recognised.
