A school is set to make history by scrapping single-sex classes next autumn.

Governors at Stamford Endowed Schools have confirmed plans for the schools to become fully co-educational.

Originally founded in 1532, the schools use a diamond model in which boys and girls are taught separately between the ages of 11 and 16.
