Plans approved for new school in Weldon which could serve Rutland pupils

LEARN MOREA new school has been granted planning permission and will provide 1,500 places for pupils aged 11-18 by North Northamptonshire Council.
Weldon Village Academy will be located off Oundle Road in Weldon and is being built in a bid to meet demand for places. It will feature two full-sized football pitches.
Cambridge Meridan Academies Trust, which runs Stamford Welland Academy, submitted the application along with the Department for Education and Bam Construction.
Building is expected to start by the end of the year with the school due to open at the beginning of the academic year in 2023.
There will also be paths and a new roundabout on the A427 to help access.
