St George's Primary School in Stamford stages a fun day for its year six leavers thanks to funding from 7Formation

Pupils will be able to remember their last days of primary school fondly after enjoying a surprise fun day.

The year six children at St George's Primary School in Stamford celebrated their last week in style with the help of adventure company H5.

On Tuesday last week, the 11-year-olds were treated to a range of activities including den building, archery, cooking on open fires and a giant inflatable obstacle course.

The children also celebrated with a fish and chip dinner from Birdies and an Oscar-style award ceremony called The George’s. The pupils then danced their hearts out at a disco in the school hall.

The activities were funded by the company 7Formation.

It has been a tough two years for the children with two lockdowns and Covid restrictions which have meant usual year 6 events have not taken place.

Year six teacher Jo Sumpton said: “The children had an amazing day. I would like to say a huge thank you to 7Formation without whom this day would not have happened.

"The children thoroughly deserved it and it was fantastic to watch them laughing and having fun.

"We have all needed a bit of that over the last 18 months.”
