Brooke Priory School in Oakham plans to have multi-use games area for year-round sports and activities

A multi-use games area could be installed for pupils to use at their school.

Michael Allen, secretary for Brooke Priory School in Station Approach, Oakham, has applied to Rutland County Council asking for planning permission for a facility behind the school.

If given the go-ahead, Lutterworth-based Notts Sport will put in an artificial surface that can be used for sports and games all year round.

The multi-use games area (planning application number 2021/0122/FUL) would be surrounded by 3m mesh fencing to keep balls within the grounds, and it would be lit by 8m tall sports lights.

The facility would be used between 8am and 6pm Mondays to Fridays and be served by the existing car park for 18 vehicles.
