Wilds Lodge School plans to build new classrooms in Empingham
A planning application has been made for four small 'nurture' classrooms at Wilds Lodge School off Stamford Road, Empingham.
A previous application to Rutland County Council had been made for a two-storey building comprising four classrooms and support spaces and a separate single-storey building with a ‘sensory room’.
The school has scrapped previous plans to build the sensory room and is instead looking to build a ‘Nurture Boarding House’.
Principal of Wilds Lodge School, Robin Lee, said: “We have an increasing number of younger children in our nurture group and we want nicer classrooms for them, slightly away from the older pupils."
