Head of school Louise Jordan said: “We are delighted to have started our journey. It is all thanks to our fantastic modern foreign languages Kirsten Parriss and the dedication of our wonderful children that we have achieved so much in such a short space of time.”

John Rolfe MBE, from British Council, congratulated Colsterworth Primary School, adding that he was proud of the commitment of staff to making sure their pupils become globally aware young people.

The award scheme, which began in 1999, is recognised in many European, African and Asian countries.
