Alex McLean from 1st Uppingham Scouts gets donation from Bloor Homes to help him attend the World Scout Jamboree 2019 in West Virginia, USA




A Scout who is looking to raise almost £4,000 to attend a global gathering of Scouts in the USA has received backing from a housebuilder.

Alex McLean, 13, who is a member of 1st Uppingham Scouts, needs to raise £3,895 to attend the World Scout Jamboree in West Virginia in July and represent Rutland.

Alex, who attends Uppingham Community College, said: "This is an amazing opportunity to spend two weeks with Scouts from all over the world and I am very proud to be representing my county.
