Rise in number of Covid-19 cases in South Kesteven and Rutland after IT technical issue with reporting is identified




The number of coronavirus cases in South Kesteven and Rutland has risen dramatically after an IT failure was identified.

Public Health England yesterday (Sunday, October 4) admitted that a "technical issue" was found on Friday night, which led to 15,841 cases nationwide between September 25 and October 2 not being reported.

As a result, the number of positive coronavirus cases for South Kesteven now stands at 617 - up from 562 on Wednesday night (September 30). The number of deaths, since the outbreak began, within 28 days of receiving a positive test result remains at 52 for the district.
