A man is appealing for witnesses after narrowly escaping a crash with a driver travelling the wrong way down a busy road.

At about 7.20pm on Monday (February 7), Rutland resident Sean Halliday was driving on the B668 between Greetham and the Ram Jam Inn site near Stretton when he noticed the driver of a light blue Honda Civic on the wrong side of the road.

As the driver, a woman, was approaching she put her lights on full beam.

Noticing the car driving towards him Sean slowed down to a stop, narrowly avoiding a crash.

The female driver waited for traffic to pass before returning to the correct side of the road and driving off.

While Sean's dashcam captured the incident, it is not clear from the footage what the vehicle's registration is.

Sean is urging people who witnessed the incident and have the vehicle's number plate details to get in touch with Leicestershire Police.
