SHOPPERS rummaged through piles of clothing to raise more than £100 for an animal charity.
Members and supporters of Bourne Animal Welfare raised £140 at a sale held in Bourne Abbey Church Hall at the weekend.
Crowds of people filed into the church hall on Saturday to pick up a bargain among the piles of clothes.
Bric-a-brac, glass and china along with handbags and coats were also on sale.
Visitors were also able to enjoy a welcome cup of tea and coffee.
There was a hint of sadness at Saturday’s sale as it was the first held since the death of longstanding helper and member, Pam Binns, who died at Christmas.
Organiser Cynthia Graham said that Mrs Binns would have been pleased with the sale.
She said: “She would have been proud of us.
“We raised a good amount of money and we were very pleased considering the weather.”
The charity helps cats and kittens find new homes along with offering help with veterinary bills.
