Dozens of people bagged a bargain at a clothing sale on Saturday and the organiser bagged another £1,500 towards her charity efforts.

Shirin Fenn, of Essendine, hosted the sale which took place at Stamford United Reformed Church in Broad Street. The aim was to raise funds towards her trip to Nepal in October to help rebuild homes for victims of last year’s earthquake.

Shirin thanked all of those who came to the sale and her small army of friends and family, who helped her.

She added: “It was a great day with a lovely atmosphere and great support from the people of our town. Together we raised a fantastic £1,536.”
