Fire at Uppingham Community College delays back-to-school plans

A blaze which broke out at Uppingham Community College has put a halt on back-to-school plans.

The significant fire broke out during the early hours of Wednesday (August 26), damaging a three-storey block.

Due to the coronavirus restrictions, a phased reopening was planned with pupils expected to return to the school from September 1. However, these plans have been pushed back by one week and tasks will be set for pupils to complete from home.
