Signs have today (Thursday, June 9) gone up at Starbucks in Stamford as work continues to turn the former bank into a coffee shop.

A spokesperson for the company last month said: "We look forward to opening our doors to customers at Stamford and Bourne in the near future."

Previously the chain has refused to comment on the location despite a change of use application for the High Street site in Stamford.

NatWest closed its doors in May 2018 and the upper floors of the building have since been transformed into four luxury rental apartments.

It is not yet known when Starbucks will open or how many jobs will be created at the site.

A Starbucks spokesperson said: "We look forward to bringing the Starbucks Experience to customers in Stamford in the near future and will be in touch once we have more specific plans to share.”
