Bourne Skip Hire's planning application for new site recommended for refusal by Lincolnshire County Council

Plans to use agricultural land on the edge of Bourne for processing up to 75,000 tonnes of waste each year should be turned down, according to a report.

Bourne Skip Hire has asked to use a site, measuring about two-thirds of a hectare off South Fen Road, for waste recycling to produce soil, soil substitutes and aggregate.

If the request were granted, about 10,000 tonnes of waste could be stored at the site at any one time. The application also asks for two offices to be sited at the same location. Six jobs would be created initially, with up to 10 jobs longer term.
