Slimmers in Rutland have been dropping the pounds and giving their clothes away to a good cause.
Members of the county’s three Slimming World groups have spring-cleaned their closets and are donating the clothes that no longer fit their new slimline figures to the Cancer Research UK shop in Oakham.
Their good deeds are part of Slimming World’s national initiative The Big Slimming World Clothes Throw.
Sophie Shamsi, who runs the groups with Sheryl Kearney, said: “Members in our groups have lost 258 stones since January this year and they’re feeling fantastic.
“Lots of people have dropped down clothes sizes and their wardrobes are full of clothes that are too big and baggy now. And they’re happy to give them away because they know that they’re never going to need them again.”
