Soldiers from Kendrew Barracks are special guests of Leicester Tigers

Soldiers from 2nd Battalion The Royal Anglian Regiment in Kendrew Barracks, Cottesmore, were be guests of honour at a Leicester Tigers match yesterday (Saturday).

The rugby club designated the day as an opportunity to show its support to the county’s Armed Forces with veterans and serving military personnel being offered discounted tickets to the match.

Outside the Welford Road stadium, where the Tigers will take on Sale Sharks, were be two Foxhound patrol vehicles on show as used by the 2nd Battalion The Royal Anglian Regiment during their recent tour of Afghanistan. Also on display was be a range of weaponry, and soldiers spoke about their equipment and life in the Army.

The club said it was “proud” to be able to welcome service personnel to the game.
