“I have always wanted to be a local solicitor and someone that families know they can turn to.

“Oakham hasn’t changed much since I was at school here.

“There are a few more coffee shops and the pubs have had a make-over but it’s still the same lovely town.

“It’s strange to see Oakham School students walking around town and knowing that I’m now back here in a professional capacity but I am networking and getting to know people within the business community.”

Kate’s role will see here help with will writing, probate, trusts and tax planning advice.

“It’s really varied, which I like because I’m working on something different all the time,” she added.

“As a solicitor and chartered tax advisor, I can help in complex areas such as capital gains, inheritance tax, trusts and income tax which can arise when dealing with the administration of estates or trusts as well as lifetime tax planning.

“I help people during a really difficult time by taking the complexity out of managing their estate.”
