Solicitors set to sleep out to help homeless

Roger Clarke, a partner with Buckles Solicitors, will forego the warmth of his bed on the night of Friday, January 18, and brave the winter cold to raise money for homeless people.

His ‘sleepout’ challenge is part of a firm-wide initiative to encourage staff to develop their resilience and leadership skills. It will take place on the premises of Buckles’ Peterborough office in support of the homeless charity, Crisis.

Weather permitting (for health and safety reasons, the activity will be postponed if the temperature drops below -10C), Roger will be joined by 11 of his Buckles colleagues: Sarah James, Alison Banerjee, Debbie Carnell, Duncan and Devon Jackson, Adrian Avory, Greg McCusker, Richard Stockdale, James Maxey, Angela Babb and Paul Gould.

Roger said: “We know it’s only one night and therefore not the same experience as being homeless. However, it will give us a taste for the cold and discomfort endured night after night by those unfortunate enough to not have a home.

“We hope that lots of people will be able to support us by making a donation.”
