A specialist French market will visit Bourne and Grantham in October to add a flavour of the continent to two of South Kesteven’s markets.

A group of 14 traders will promote and sell French food, fashion and goods in Bourne outside the Corn Exchange on Friday, October 16 and then at Grantham’s market on Saturday, October 17.

Vintage music and family entertainment will welcome shoppers who will be able to sample some French style cuisine and snacks from 8am to 2pm on both days.

SKDC’s venues and facilities manager Paul Stokes said: “We wanted to bring something different to our markets this October, and Bourne and Grantham will now host a flavour of France on consecutive days.

“This is with the specific aim of boosting numbers at Grantham’s market on this date and giving Bourne residents a different style offering on a non market day.

“We’ll closely monitor reaction to the events to gauge if there is interest in similar offerings at our markets going forward.”

In Grantham French traders will be sited in the Market Place, meaning Conduit Lane and Westgate will be closed to through traffic on the day.
