Alcohol stolen from Waitrose in West Street, Stamford




A thief walked out of Waitrose in West Street, Stamford with eight bottles of spirits worth £232.

The crime happened at about 4.30pm and was witnessed by shoppers and caught on the supermarket’s CCTV.

Insp Ian Martin of Stamford Police said: “Waitrose is a store that suffers from this sort of crime, particularly involving high-value spirits, because of its location which gives thieves ready access to the Northampton road and the A1.

“We have been working closely with Waitrose to support them in the identification of suspects and repeat offenders, and we have had some good results helped by their high-quality CCTV and the store reporting incidents.”
