MORE trees will be planted at a community orchard that is going from strength to strength.
The Friends of Bourne Wood has set up the community orchard at the entrance to Bourne Wood, just off Beech Avenue.
The first dozen trees were planted in the spring but now the group is ready to collect funds to plant more trees in the autumn.
If anyone would like to sponsor a tree they will be £30 each and can be chosen from a list of apple, pear and plum trees, for the friends to purchase on the sponsor’s behalf.
The cost includes the tree and all protection. If you would like more information contact Sarah Roberts on 07760468052 or e-mail Roberts.email@example.com.
People can also go and see the work the Friends are doing in the orchard when they have working parties there on Saturday, September 22, and Thursday, October 5, between 10am and midday.
This is a chance for people to get involved in the work of the orchard which has been created for the benefit of everyone in the community.
