Call for sponsors to extend dementia workshops in Rutland

People living with early-stage dementia have taken part in activity workshops designed to slow the progress of the disease.

The weekly workshops at Uppingham Town Hall finish on Wednesday (November 6).

Each week, participants have worked on creative tasks, focusing on what they can achieve, rather than what’s been lost. Workshop activities included ceramics, printing and other types of craft and music.

The workshops were run by Rutland Community Ventures, a not-for-profit company based in Barleythorpe, which received £1,000 in grant funding from Uppingham Town Council and Arts4Rutland.

The community company is now looking for sponsorship to run workshops across Rutland. To help visit the website www.rutlandcommunityventures.uk or e-mail info@rutlandcommunityventures.uk
