A GP practice in Stamford has been commended for the quality of service provided to its patients by the leading health watchdog.

Inspectors from the Care Quality Commission carried out a review of St Mary’s Medical Centre in Stamford on April 12 and have awarded the surgery a good overall rating.

The inspection looked at a number of areas and considered whether the services provided were safe, caring, responsive and effective and whether the practice was well led. The inspection team also looked at services provided for different patient groups including older people, people with long term conditions, families, children and young people and people whose circumstances make them vulnerable.

Senior partner at the practice Dr Katy Fitt said: “This is a very positive result for the practice and reflects the hard work and commitment of our team. I would also like to thank our patient group representatives who contributed to the inspection process and continue to support the practice on an ongoing basis.”
