A choir is one of many groups calling for votes as it tries to win a share of up to £10,000.

Stamford Choral and the choirs of Stamford Endowed Schools are bidding for grant funding from the Aviva Community Fund. The choir hopes to use the money to pay for the Malcolm Sargent Concert at Peterborough Cathedral.

The projects with the most online votes will move on to a judging panel, which will decide who gets the money. Voting closes on May 30.

Musical director Jeremy Jepson said: “This is an exciting opportunity for our own community to help us continue our projects with schools in the area, projects which inspire singers and musicians of all ages, and which brings new audiences to music.”
