Stamford councillor Martin Trollope-Bellew elected as new chairman of Lincolnshire County Council

Martin Trollope-Bellew was elected the new chairman for Lincolnshire County Council on Friday last week.

Coun Trollope-Bellew (Con) represents Stamford Rural and lives in Barholm. He replaces William Webb in the role.

Coun Trollope-Bellew, who has been on the county council for 19 years, said: “I am particularly interested in the growth of small businesses and during my time as chairman will help promote the rural economy in all its forms, from farming to leisure and tourism.”

As chairman, he will be raising funds and supporting the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance Service and Prostate Cancer UK, during his year.

Coun Andrew Hagues elected as his deputy.
