A group which wants to set up a new school in Stamford is in talks with the Burghley Estate to find a suitable location.

The Stamford Free School group wants to open a new secondary school to provide more education options in the town.

The group is now working with Burghley to secure a location and said it was “hugely grateful for the assistance and support”.

It said other possible sites were also still being considered and said finding the right location was crucial to making the school a reality and it was credible.

Members of the group will be on The Rec over the festival weekend tomorrow and on Sunday to talk to parents about their proposals and answer questions. To find out more visit
