Stamford Hospital makes splash with new mural

The children’s clinic at Stamford Hospital has been brightened up even more thanks to a brand new aquatic mural.

Children will find themselves transported to the great depths of the ocean, surrounded by coral reefs, whales, dolphins and sealife thanks to Lisa East from Street Arts Hire.

The Friends of Stamford Hospital paid for the mural as they wanted to do something to improve the paediatric clinic area.

Sue Brooks, matron and site manager, said: “The mural adds a slapsh of fun to the clinic area, creating a warm and welcoming environment.

“Hospital can be a daunting place, especially for our younger patients but we hope the mural will promote a friendly atmosphere and help them feel more at ease during their appointment.”

Sue thanked both the Friends of Samford Hospital and Lisa East for the mural.

The picture shows deputy sister Nichola Wells, healthcare assistant Sharon Howsam and consultant paediatrician Dr Mona Aslam.
