Stamford School students fascinated by Donald Trump and Brexit
Brexit and Donald Trump are spicing up the teaching of politics in the sixth form, says Stamford School’s head of politics Dave Tuck, who has just published his second book.
Entitled ‘A-level Politics’ and co-written with John Jeffries, the textbook will sell all over the world by the thousand and be a useful reference book for university preparation.
Dave also writes for Political Review magazine, which is read by A-level students, which led him to write the textbooks. Writing about politics, he says, is satisfying as it is forever changing, meaning a new edition of the book will be needed within 18 months.
Brexit and Donald Trump dominate today, but controversies aside, he believes teachers must be neutral and not seek to indoctrinate.
Dave added: “Donald Trump fascinates the students. We also have interesting debates about feminism, socialism and conservatism.”
