Stamford woman targeted in attempted fraud




A woman from Stamford has been targeted by would-be fraudsters.

Lincolnshire Police said they received a report at around 2.30pm on January 3 when the woman said she had received several scam telephone calls from her bank.

The caller told the victim they had a cheque for her worth £3,000 and that she would need to pay £236 when it is delivered.

Anyone with any information should call 101, quoting incident number 223 of January 3.
