Stolen crocodile is returned to owner

A 12ft stone crocodile that was stolen from a Bourne garden has been returned to its owner.

The ornamental reptile was taken from the garden in Rangoon Way at some point between April 19 and 21.

Police appealed for witnesses on Monday and after the news spread on social media the crocodile was found and returned on Wednesday.

The story caused quite a stir on the Local’s Facebook page. Several people posted humorous photos, including one of a man trying to take a crocodile onto a bus and one from the hit film Crocodile Dundee.
