Students living in Rutland could be eligible for a grant to support their learning.

Oakham United Charities is offering up to £100 for students to spend on books or equipment.

The scheme is open to young people who are working on an apprenticeship, vocational training or university course.

Applicants must be aged between 16 and 22.

The Charity of Henry Forster grants are open to those living in Oakham, Barleythorpe or Gunthorpe, while the Rutland Society of Industry grants are available to those living anywhere in Rutland.

To apply for a grant email OUCharities@gmail.com to request an application form.

Applications will be considered by trustees of Oakham United Charities. The deadline is Sunday, November 14.

The size and number of grants awarded will depend on income from the charitable funds and the number of applications received.

The Charity of Henry Forster, founded in 1692, and the Rutland Society of Industry, founded in 1785, were both set up to help young people prepare to earn their own living.
