MUSIC fans have raised £216 at a band night for Lucy’s Hope 4 Others charity.

The considerable crowd enjoyed music last Saturday night at Mama Liz’s Voodoo Lounge, featuring bands: Flawless Victory, Latest Gossip, Recreation Ground Road, Two Point Zero and a set from DJ Tucker and Friends. The gig was organised by Sadie Roscoe, 23, of Edinburgh Road, Stamford.

Sadie said: “It went really well. It was absolutely crammed, you couldn’t even move in there to start with.

“Some people where there to support the charity and some where there to see the bands.”

Stamford based band Latest Gossip stole the show with a great performance.

Sadie said: “They are only 14 year olds but they were absolutely amazing.”

Despite being well engaged with the local music scene this was the first event Sadie has run, she said: “I was really nervous before it all started, but as soon as we made enough to cover the sound technician I relaxed. I was buzzing all night you couldn’t keep me still. “

The money raised will go to Lucy’s Hope 4 Others, which was set up by Sadie’s friend, Terri Tissier, after the death of her baby daughter Lucy, to raise money towards equipment at Leicester Royal Infirmary neonatal unit.
