Summer line-ups revealed for South Kesteven arts centres

New What’s On brochures from South Kesteven District Council’s arts centres are now available with details of their summer programmes.

Both Stamford Arts Centre and Grantham’s Guildhall Arts Centre have brochures available online, with printed copies available at each venue.

Each has details of varied events for all ages, from family workshops to dance, poetry, drama, music and comedy and this summer’s popular Music in Quiet Places season.

Councillor Trollope-Bellew, SKDC cabinet member for culture and the visitor economy said; “It’s absolutely brilliant to see our arts centres back open and running after such a difficult time during the pandemic.

“Our arts teams have worked hard to organise top class entertainment across the board, with something for everyone. We are extremely excited to once again be able to welcome audiences to events right across the district.”

Stamford Arts Centre is listing its cinema programme, with details of the town’s International Music Festival and a special Platinum Jubilee Craft workshop at the end of May.

This season there’s music from Katherine Priddy, Le Vent Du Nord, Stamford International Music Festival, and jazz songstress Claire Martin. The People's Theatre Company will stage ‘I Spy With My Little Eye’ and there will also be Golden Toad Theatre Company’s Errol’s Garden.

Stamford Shoestring Theatre will be presenting its hard-hitting play ‘Blackbird’, there is a double bill of dance from SMACK and Spektakal, Shakespeare’s Fool from Tortive Theatre, S.O.E (Special Operations Executive) by Clair Obscur and a performance of Jane Austin at Home.

In Grantham, popular Neil Sands and his talented West End cast return with ‘Happy and Glorious’, a celebration of Her Majesty the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee on May 20.

It’s part of a packed musical season including The Ultimate Commitments and Blues Brothers, Dervish and Damien O'Kane, plus drama from Theatre Fideri Fidera with their latest family show Ugg Ogg.

The Groove disco for adults with additional needs is back and there’s family fun this summer with a range of family workshops plus a summer camp from resident youth drama group New Youth Theatre.
