Summer party in Little Casterton raises about £1,000 for the Wajir mission in North East Africa

A Summer party hosted in aid of a Kenyan mission on Sunday raised nearly £1,000 for the cause.

Pat Gallagher has been supporting the Wajir mission in North East Africa for more than 40 years and regularly hosts fundraising events for the cause.

She was delighted when friends Dr Nigel Callow and his wife Catherine offered the use of their home and garden in Little Casterton for a Summer party and with the help of other friends from St Mary and St Augustine’s Church in Stamford, they gathered enough food for a sumptuous meal.

Tickets were limited to 50 but in the end, 66 people turned out and raised £934. The money will go towards the school in Wajir.

Pat, 83, said: “It was a really lovely afternoon and the food was absolutely wonderful. I was very pleased with how it went and how much was raised. It really does make such a difference.”
