Sunshine and smiles at Caldecott summer fete
This year’s annual summer fete in Caldecott was a huge success, with crowds of people young and old enjoying the warm summer weather.
The event took place on the village green and in the church hall on Saturday. Visitors could browse a range of stalls selling books, bric-a-brac, cakes and refreshments. There were plenty of fun games for the youngsters to try and a licenced bar and barbecue for the adults.
One of the highlights was the snail race, new for this year, which the youngsters thoroughly enjoyed. And there was music from the popular Gretton Silver Band to add to the occasion. Our picture shows Elizabeth and Abby Marlow.
Committee member June Gower said: “It went very well. It was a lovely day with a great atmosphere.”
