Supermarket Morrisons leaving summer posies in Stamford for people to find and take home

Florists from Morrisons Stamford are today (Monday, August 25) leaving colourful summer posies in locations across Stamford for people to pick up and take home.

After a spell of changeable summer holiday weather, Morrisons Stamford florists are hoping that the jolly posies will help brighten up Stamford’s Bank Holiday weekend.

The posies are being placed in parks, bus stops and shopping areas for passers by to pick up. They are made from multi-coloured Germini, which look like big, brightly coloured summer daisies.

Joe Danby, Morrisons Stamford store manager, said: “Our florists know how changeable the weather has been this summer and wanted to cheer everyone up. We hope that people who find these brightly-coloured posies across Stamford will pick them up, take them home, and enjoy having their little splash of warming colour in their house.”

Morrisons makes 22 million bouquets a year using nearly 250 million stems at its very own Flower World site which spans 17.5 acres and employs over 260 fully trained florists. Uniquely, Morrisons deals directly with all of its flower growers, meaning it can offer better value to customers and a minimum of five days vase life on its flowers.
