Support humbles parents of son who died from leukaemia

Have your say

THE parents of a man who died from leukaemia aged just 27 say they have been “humbled” by the outpouring of sympathy following his death.

Paul and Lynn Muldoon, of Ascendale, Deeping St James, have spoken of the support they have received after losing their son, Sam, in December.

Sam, who also had Down’s syndrome, died after a nine-month battle with cancer.

The couple said: “We have received 178 condolence cards, plus letters and e-mails from far and wide and they are still coming. We are totally amazed and humbled by the breadth of love people must have had for Sam.”

About 250 people attended a thanksgiving service for Sam at Deeping Baptist Church, in Bridge Street. A collection raised more than £500 for The Lodge Trust in Market Overton.

Mr Muldoon is a trustee of the charity.
