A SURPRISE tea party was held to honour a volunteer who hosted weekly lunches for a charity.

Rosemary Richardson, of Colley Rise, Lyddington, hosted the lunches at Uppingham Methodist church hall on behalf of Age Concern Leicester Shire and Rutland for 20 years.

Unfortunately, after suffering from a bad fall in May this year, Rosemary decided to retire.

On Monday a special tea party was held for her in Bisbrooke and Rosemary was presented with a bouquet of flowers by the High Sheriff of Rutland Peter Lawson as well as garden vouchers from members of the luncheon group and Age UK.

She said: “It was a lovely day and I feel very humbled.”
