GP surgeries judged by inspectors to be ‘inadequate’ and ‘requiring improvement’ also performed poorly in a patient survey, results show.

Only 19 per cent of patients registered at Oakham Medical Practice and 14 per cent of those registered with Lakeside Healthcare Stamford said they found it easy to get through to surgery staff by phone, according to the annual GP Patient Survey.

At the Uppingham Surgery 45 per cent of patients said they found it easy to get through by phone, at Wansford Surgery it was 81 per cent, and at Empingham Medical Centre 89 per cent.
