Re-live the 1940s at Nene Valley Railway on Saturday




Take a steam train ride back to the 1940s as Nene Valley Railway turns back the clock to recapture the spirit of the blitz on Saturday, October 5.

Visitors are invited to dress in 1940s clothes, take along their dancing shoes and enjoy the live entertainment, music and dancing.

Vehicle displays, spectacular battle re-enactments and demonstrations will also feature at this new event.

Travel on an authentic European train of ‘Wagon-Lit’ coaches into occupied Europe as Overton station is transformed into ‘Carentan’ under German occupation.

Attractions at Wansford Station include live musicand 1940s dance sessions.

The Spirit of The Blitz Bar and outdoor air-raid shelter-themed gin bar will be serving blitz spirits and The Turntable Cafe will be offering a wartime menu. The specialist transport bookshop and museum will also be open. Hairdressing is by appointment in the morning or walk-in during the afternoon.
