PARTICIPANTS in a fun gameshow event will get wet and soapy no matter what the weather.

It’s a Knockout will be held at Stamford Rugby Club in Empingham Road, Stamford, on Sunday when about 20 teams will compete for a £500 prize for their nominated charity.

The game involves a huge number of soapy inflatables and promises to be fun for participants and spectators alike.

Games on the inflatable course include a human washing machine, a wrecking ball and a bungee run.

The gates open from 11am when teams can register and face up to their opponents and the games will start at 12.30pm.

The Rotary Club of Stamford St Martin’s is organising the event and George Hetherington, one of the organisers, said this year there will be a larger selection of food stands, family games, rides and stalls than last year’s event, which raised more than £7,000 for good causes.

There will be children’s entertainment, face painting, a raffle and a tombola.

Last year’s event attracted more than 4,000 visitors and Mr Hetherington is hoping that everyone goes to enjoy a fantastic day out.

He said: “It’s a Knockout is the St Martin’s Rotary Club ‘Fun with a Purpose’ free family fun day. The whole purpose of the day is to provide a huge amount of fun for competitors, supporters, families and the local community while raising funds for worthy causes.”

The Empingham Road ground is the ideal location with free admission and parking.

There is also space for people to enjoy a picnic if the weather is good.

Last minute bookings can still be taken for stall holders and teams who can contact Mr Hetherington on 01780 757439 or e-mail
