Teenage bake sale in Whissendine to raise money for the Refugee Council

A group of teenage bakers have organised a bake sale to raise money for refugees.

The event will take place on Saturday, September 18, from 10am to midday on Whissendine Village Green.

Georgie and Charlotte Buxton, Polly Greening, Olive Tathem, Poppy Pearce-Smith and Amelie Schamp, all 13, decided to help when they saw harrowing photos of refugees trying to flee Afghanistan.

The Refugee Council helps people to rebuild their lives in the UK.

The children have also created a Justgiving page for people to donate to if they can't attend the bake sale.
