Teenager hit by car on pedestrian crossing in Stamford

A 14-year-old girl was taken to hospital by ambulance after being struck by a car on a pedestrian crossing.

Police and ambulance personnel were called to High Street St Martin’s, Stamford, at 9.47am on Monday.

The road was closed for around an hour, causing long tailbacks in the area.

The victim’s injuries were said to be minor.
