Two teenagers, from Oakham and Draycott-in-the-Clay, arrested on suspicion of sexual assault

Two teenagers have been arrested on suspicion of sexual assault following an incident in Oakham.

At about 7pm on Sunday (June 20) officers received a report from a member of the public that two 13-year-old girls had been inappropriately touched.

It was reported that the girls were walking along a street in Oakham when they were followed by two boys who tried to talk to the girls and then touched them inappropriately.

The girls walked to one of their homes where a parent saw the boys and they ran away.

Officers attended the area and after a search arrested a 14-year-old boy from Oakham and 15-year-old boy from Draycott-in-the-Clay on suspicion of sexual assault.

They have since been bailed and the investigation continues.
