Television naturalist Nick Baker from Springwatch and the Really Wild Show cuts ribbon on new educational bird hide at Lyndon nature reserve on Rutland Water

A new bird hide for school children to make the most of the birds at Rutland Water had its official opening on Saturday by well-known naturalist Nick Baker.

The new Teal hide, which replaced an older and smaller one, opened earlier in the season and has been used by hundreds of school childrenalready.

But on Saturday, Nick Baker, who has appeared on Springwatch and the Really Wild Show, was invited to cut a ribbon and a cake to mark the opening, which was made possible thanks to an anonymous donation.
