Determined fund-raisers for a new play park at Corby Glen have conquered ‘The Beast’.

Amy Roberts, Charlotte Crake, Paul Phillips and Thomas Bardwell - set themselves the challenge to complete the extreme five mile obstacle course on Sunday.

It took them just over an hour to run up steep hills, over horse-sized jumps and through four waist-height rivers.

“It was freezing!” said Amy, “With the thought of the new play park we all ploughed through and made it over the finish line. We would like to thank everyone for the support they gave us. We raised an amazing £1,325 towards the park!”

* They are also holding an afternoon tea with raffle and much more on March 13 at Corby Glen Church Street Rooms, starting from 2pm for adults and 4pm for families.
